Craftsmanship at it's finest

A beautiful image, the seeming simplicity of which is deceiving.
The print Team Wakon sent me is absolutely flawless.

To understand this is made entirely by hand is very humbling. There is great artistry in every aspect - from Sekka's brilliant interpretation of the subject, to the expert carving of the original blocks this print is made from, then add the work of the master Surish and the intensity of the colours (and on that subject - there is a level of subtlety in this print that goes beyond the technical, and which without question takes the very highest level of skill to produce). All enhanced by the finest Washi paper. The work of so many highly skilled masters - craftsmen of the highest caliber - that culminates in a single thing of beauty

And regarding Team Wakon: I was made to feel like the most important customer in the world, which was such a treat. The quality of the print I purchased, the way it was packed for shipping, (or should I say the incredible way it was presented), along with dealing with people who really care about preserving and perpetuating such an exquisite art form, made this purchase an adventure of great pleasure that I am looking forward to repeating. My sincerest thanks to all at Team Wakon and especially Masaru Kikuchi.
