Stunning Irises

First I’d like to say that the whole acquisition experience was very easy, with Masa-san’s helpful and timely communication. The byōbu arrived on time and carefully packaged.

Words don’t do justice to the contrast between the deep blue irises with their fresh green stems and the luminous gold foil background. The brown boardwalk gives a subtle depth to the whole composition that changes before your very eyes as the gold reflects the varying ambient light, sometimes bringing the blue flowers brightly forward, sometimes making them look almost black against the background of resplendent gold. I look forward to enjoying this beautiful artwork for many years.
