This decorative plate features a design set against a backdrop of pristine white porcelain, centering on a "Red Fuji" rendered in the deep, vivid crimson of *shinsha* (copper-red) glaze. Accompanying the mountain are a pair of cranes gracefully taking flight—accented with gold leaf—and a noble pine tree spreading its branches. The serene, unadorned white porcelain enhances the design, while the rich shading created by the *shinsha* glaze’s substantial red hue lends depth and a sense of vitality to the mountain's surface. The red color arises from the copper within the glaze undergoing a transformation during the reduction firing process; this creates a unique "kiln landscape" (*kama no keshiki*), ensuring that no two pieces look exactly alike. Every nuance—from the flickering of the flames to the airflow within the kiln—is reflected in the glaze, resulting in a singular work that embodies the beauty of nature’s serendipity.

The "Red Fuji" depicted in the design is a special motif revered since ancient times as an omen of good fortune. Bathed in the morning sun, the Red Fuji symbolizes prosperity, the opening of a new path to success, and great strides forward, inspiring viewers with hopes for a bright future. Soaring close together above the mountain are a pair of cranes; as the saying goes, "cranes live for a thousand years," making them enduring symbols of longevity. They are cherished in Japan as auspicious motifs representing marital harmony, prosperity, and joy. The pine tree, which retains its greenery throughout the four seasons, symbolizes unchanging vitality, longevity, and steadfast prosperity. These three auspicious motifs harmonize within a single composition, quietly conveying the Japanese aesthetic sensibility and a spirit of prayer.

Whether displayed in an alcove (*tokonoma*), entryway, reception room, or living area, this piece brings a dignified elegance to the space, exuding the rich presence unique to traditional Japanese craftsmanship. It is a masterpiece worthy of being cherished as a work of art, yet also serves as an exceptional gift to mark life's milestones—such as celebrations of longevity, housewarmings, commemorative events, or corporate gifts. The auspicious motifs—Mount Fuji, cranes, and pine trees—symbolize Japanese culture and are cherished by people overseas; these pieces are highly regarded as gifts for international recipients and valued clients alike. This exquisite decorative plate embodies the proud tradition of Arita ware and the artisan's dedication to carrying that beauty into the future.
