Shockingly Beautiful

I am a relative novice in the world of Japanese woodblock prints. Consequently, I was unprepared for the brilliant colors and visual texture of the print. Earlier, I had only seen a number of museum quality restrikes of classical Ukiyo-e prints. While all of these have been beautiful, none have had the impact on me that Namiki's has. I plan to visit Tokyo this December and look forward to seeing other Sōsaku-hanga artists in Jimbocho and Akasuka. My biggest difficulty right now is keeping from buying more prints through Team Wokan. The variety of the site's offerings and ease of delivery are making it tempting to deplete my budgeted spendings before I even land in Tokyo.
