Furoshiki (Japanese Wrapping Cloth) 97 x 97 cm

"Umezawa no Hidari (Left Side of Umezawa in Sagami Province)" (circa 1830-1834)
This is one of the 46 prints in Katsushika Hokusai's famous ukiyo-e series, "Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji." "Umezawa no Hidari" is thought to be a misspelling of "Umezawa-zai" or "Umezawa-sho," referring to the present-day Umezawa district of Ninomiya Town, Kanagawa Prefecture.

The blue Mount Fuji, red-crowned cranes, and pale pink clouds... it is a very auspicious and beautifully fantastical work.

Made with a light, sheer Buckingham fabric, this piece exudes elegance and coolness whether used as a wrap or a shawl.

With its subdued colors, it's a recommended item for all genders and ages, perfect for both gifting and personal use—a truly versatile piece of Japanese fabric for today's wardrobe.
