Azuma Forest was located on the north bank of the Kitajukken River,
around the current Tachibana 1-chome area.
When Emperor Yamato Takeru was on an expedition to the east,
he encountered a storm in this area, and his wife, Ototachibanahime,
threw herself into the sea to calm it down.
Her spirit is enshrined at Azuma Gongensha Shrine, located about halfway back ]
in the shrine.
One Hundred Famous Views of Edo is a series of ukiyo-e prints
begun and largely completed by Utagawa Hiroshige (1797~1858)
