Exceptional team of craftsmen & sensational woodblock print!

Master Yoshida Toshi's “Ginkaku ji (Silver Pavilion Kyoto)” woodblock print is a transformational work of art. Master Yoshida excelled in creating a masterful composition, amazing beauty and serenity. The colours are vibrant, the tone gradations are excellent and the ink impressions are strong, clear and clean. It is a beautiful piece of art - not only in terms of the composition, scale, juxtaposition of forms, shading/tones, textures and colours but the woodcarver & esteemed printer Master Numabe at the Yoshida Studio should also be highly commended for their incredible execution of the print. Sadly much of this valuable knowledge & superlative craftsmanship skills are in danger of becoming lost to future generations unless we make a concerted effort to support these master artists, craftsmen, printing studios and their apprentices. To this end, I highly commend Chairman Masaru Kikuchi as a terrific arts & culture ambassador & Team Wakon Japan for their collective passion and professional efforts in supporting a highly respected & admired community of artisans. Thank you Team Wakon Japan!
