**Gold Decoration (*Kinsai*)**
This is a traditional Arita ware style characterized by intricate gold ornamentation. The process begins with underglaze blue painting, followed by glazing and firing at 1,300°C. Next, traditional Arita overglaze enamels (red, green, blue, yellow, etc.) are applied and fired at 800°C. Finally, gold is used to add decorative patterns. Because the piece is fired after the application of each color, a single work may undergo five to ten separate firings before completion. It is a magnificent and dignified style that combines brilliant gold accents with inventive color schemes and layouts.

**Turtle (*Kame*)**
As the old saying goes, "Cranes live for a thousand years; turtles for ten thousand," the turtle is revered as a symbol of longevity and an auspicious, lucky creature. Valued since ancient times for its good fortune, the turtle motif appears in a wide variety of designs, from decorative objects to ceramics. It is a classic, auspicious pattern—perfect for celebrations—that symbolizes health, longevity, and family harmony.

**Old Imari Style (*Ko-Imari*)**
Ceramics produced in the Hizen region (modern-day Saga and Nagasaki prefectures) from the late 17th to the late 18th century were exported to Europe via the port of Imari. Consequently, these Hizen ceramics came to be known both domestically and internationally as "Imari" (or "Old Imari") after the port from which they were shipped. Characterized by deep blue underglaze tones, lavish use of red and gold enamels, and floral patterns that cover the entire surface of the vessel, this style is thought to reflect the prosperous spirit of the Genroku era. Hizen ceramics exported to Europe were highly prized, adorning the palaces of royalty and the mansions of the aristocracy. This graceful, magnificent style captivated 17th-century Europe and remains beloved today as one of the definitive styles of Arita ware. *Seigaiha* (Blue Ocean Waves) is a geometric pattern featuring waves depicted in a fan-like shape and layered in an alternating arrangement. Admired by all for its perfected beauty as a traditional design, it has frequently appeared on Iro-Nabeshima and Ko-Imari ceramics. It is an auspicious pattern that embodies the wish for a peaceful life to continue forever—much like the ceaseless waves rolling across the vast, boundless ocean.
