*Kinsai* (gold decoration) is a traditional Arita ware style characterized by a multi-stage process: underglaze painting followed by firing at 1,300°C; overglaze painting using traditional Arita pigments (incorporating colors such as red, green, blue, and yellow) followed by firing at 800°C; and finally, the application of gold patterns for decoration. Because the piece is fired after the application of each color, the creation of a single work involves five to ten separate firings. The result is a magnificent and dignified style that combines brilliant gold accents with inventive color schemes and layouts.
**Sea Bream (*Tai*)**
Since ancient times, the sea bream has been prized as the "king of fish." Its Japanese name, *tai*, sounds like the word *medetai* (auspicious or celebratory), making it a symbol of good fortune. It is an auspicious motif featuring a gorgeous design suitable for celebratory occasions.
**Blue Ocean Waves (*Seigaiha*)**
This is a geometric pattern consisting of fan-shaped waves layered in an alternating arrangement. Its perfected beauty as a traditional pattern has made it a universal favorite, frequently appearing in *Iro-Nabeshima* and *Ko-Imari* (Old Imari) wares. It is an auspicious motif that embodies the wish for a peaceful life to continue forever, much like the ceaseless waves of the vast, open ocean.
