All of our products are all handmade and hand painted by Master Fujii Kinsai,
therefore each individual item are slightly different each other.
This decorative plate is crafted using the traditional techniques of Arita ware, with meticulous care applied to every stage of production—from wheel-throwing and hand-painting to the final firing. The background features a distinctive, deep green glaze known as *ryokusai-yu*. During the high-temperature reduction firing process, the copper oxide within the glaze undergoes subtle transformations, creating rich shading, fluid streaks, and delicate tonal variations. This is the magic of *yōhen* (kiln transmutation)—an effect born of the interplay between flame and glaze that paint alone could never replicate; it embodies a natural, serendipitous beauty, ensuring that no two pieces share the exact same visual character. The artisan quietly engages with the flames, cherishing the fleeting expressions that emerge within the kiln and pouring their spirit into the creation of a truly unique landscape.
