All of our products are all handmade and hand painted by Master Fujii Kinsai,

therefore each individual item are slightly different each other.

"Somenishiki-Kogane" is a unique technique developed by Kinsai Fujii, in which gold accents are applied over white porcelain—previously fired at 1,300°C—and then fused to the surface by firing again at 800°C. The piece undergoes multiple firings—ranging from six to ten rounds—with each application of a single color of pigment, followed by a final firing to set the gold. The gold applied across the surface creates subtle nuances of light and shadow. The luster of the gold shifts depending on the angle of the light and the viewer's perspective, resulting in a magnificent, opulent style that commands a powerful presence.
