"Somenishiki-Kogane" (Dyed Brocade and Gold) is a unique technique developed by Kinsai Fujii. It involves applying gold accents to white porcelain—which has already been fired at 1,300°C—and then firing it again at 800°C to bond the gold. The process requires firing the piece after the application of each individual color, resulting in a total of six to ten firings, with the gold applied and fired in the final stage. The gold fused to the surface creates subtle nuances of light and shadow. The luster of the gold shifts depending on the angle of the light and the viewer's perspective, creating a magnificent, opulent style that commands a powerful presence.

The Phoenix (Ho-o)
Originating in ancient China, the phoenix is a legendary, auspicious bird—known as the "King of Birds"—and is counted among the "Four Auspicious Creatures" alongside the tortoise, the qilin, and the dragon. The legend of the phoenix was introduced to Japan during the Asuka period; its motif has since been used in a wide variety of applications, ranging from decorative objects to furnishings, and it remains cherished today as an auspicious pattern that heralds good fortune.
