"Somenishiki-Kogane" (Dyed-Brocade Gold) is a unique technique developed by Kinsai Fujii. It involves applying gold accents to white porcelain—which has already been fired at 1,300°C—and then firing it again at 800°C to bond the gold. The process requires firing the piece after the application of each color, involving six to ten firings in total, with the gold applied and fired in the final stage. The gold bonded to the surface creates subtle nuances of light and shadow. The luster of the gold shifts depending on the angle of the light and the viewer's perspective, resulting in a magnificent, opulent style that commands a powerful presence.
Cherry Blossoms (Sakura)
Cherry blossoms are so beloved that they are synonymous with Japanese flowers and serve as the national flower of Japan. Their splendid appearance has made them a popular motif in paintings, crafts, and various other art forms since ancient times. With their full, glorious bloom and petals fluttering gently to the ground, they create a festive atmosphere and remain a highly popular design.
