All of our products are all handmade and hand painted by Master Fujii Kinsai,
therefore each individual item are slightly different each other.
*Kinsai* (gold decoration) is a traditional Arita ware style characterized by its lavish and dignified aesthetic, featuring brilliant gold ornamentation applied over a base of underglaze blue and traditional overglaze enamels. The production process involves multiple firing stages—firing at 1,300°C after glazing the underglaze blue, then again at 800°C after applying traditional colored enamels (such as red, green, blue, and yellow), and finally firing again after the gold decoration is added. Because the piece is fired after the application of each color, a single finished work may undergo between five and ten separate firings.
*Somenishiki* is a traditional style of Arita and Imari ware that combines underglaze blue with traditional overglaze enamels—such as red, green, blue, and yellow—applied over a glazed, high-fired base. Like *Kinsai*, the process requires firing after the application of each color, resulting in a total of four to ten firings for a single piece. Originating around 1675, *Somenishiki* (including the *Iro-Nabeshima* style) was initially created for castle furnishings and as presentation pieces for the Shogunate, feudal lords, and the Imperial Court; these techniques and traditions continue to be passed down to the present day.
*Amime-monyō* (Net Pattern)
This is a traditional pattern depicting the mesh of a fishing net. It features beautiful, rhythmic curves and has been used in Japanese ceramics since ancient times.
